Our Services
VAT Returns
VAT returns are included as part of our package price if you are VAT registered. We will complete your VAT return every quarter and (if you authorise us to act as your agent) we can even file it online for you.
Bookkeeping
Our service is designed to provide you with everything you need to keep on top of your business finances. We do the work by processing all your paperwork so that you can focus on running your business. We prefer to do this on a monthly basis, but we can arrange a different timeframe to suit if required. We achieve this by asking you to send us your paperwork by post each month. If you prefer we can pick it up at a convenient time to yourself or simply drop it off at our offices on the way by. As certified bookkeepers we can ensure that your records are properly maintained.
Payroll
If you employ staff you have obligations not only to pay them correctly but also HMRC. Remember, if you ignore HMRC you will be liable for fines and penalties. Administration of the payroll function has become more complex, costly and time consuming for the small business but by outsourcing this function you can grow your business without the payroll admin burden. We will produce payroll reports, payslips and ensure all relevant returns are made to HMRC.
Monthly Management Accounts
Our monthly management accounts will enable you to make key, strategic decisions about the current performance of your business rather than wait until your financial year end, when the results will be too late to act on. You will receive an income statement (profit and loss) and a statement of financial position (balance sheet (if applicable)). Having these financial reports to hand can also be beneficial to limited companies that pay directors a salary as you will be able to make the decision if this could be changed to salary plus dividends.
Year End Accounts & Tax
Your year-end financial statements are the most important reports we issue. They will be used for tax preparation, future reference, and decision making more so than any other monthly reports prepared. As your year end accounts will be used to determine the size of your personal and corporation tax return, it’s vital that they’re not only submitted on time, to avoid HMRC penalties, but that they’re 100 percent accurate.
Corporation Tax Return
If your company is liable for corporation tax, you must calculate how much profit your company makes for each accounting period and how much corporation tax is payable on those profits. This information must be reported to HMRC on a corporation tax return form and accounts and tax computations must be submitted to HMRC in support of the return.
Self-Assessment Tax Return
If you engage McLean Strang Accountants to complete your tax return, we will ensure that all the required records are obtained from you, well before the deadline, to ensure that your Inland Revenue Self Assessment is completed and filed on time – hassle free!
